High Impact Motorsports presents a sampling of the services we have provided. Where possible, we have provided additional information as to the specific work performed, parts used, and other relative, and hopefully, useful information. A click on the picture may take you to a page with more details and pictures of what we did with these vehicles.

1968 Camaro

Our customer brought us this car with one goal in mind: to build one awesome '69 Camaro. The build for this car began with the installation of an LS2 crate engine and a Tremec T56 six-speed transmission. The powertrain was rounded off with a Currie 9" Ford axle. The braking was improved with the addition of four wheel disc brakes and the suspension received new bushings, springs and Hotchkiss front and rear sway bars. The exhaust was sent through a true dual Flowmaster American Thunder system and included an H-pipe. SInce our customer also wanted not only to be cool, but ice cold, we installed a new heating and air conditioning unit from Vintage Air. The dash also received a full set of Autometer gauges in leiu of the original '60s units.

The finishing touch was a new "Candy Apple Red" paint scheme done by our affiliate shop Fabulous Finish Custom Paint.

1969 Camaro

This '69 Camaro was definitely in need of some TLC before it came to us. Our customer was concerned about the handling of the car and was really not happy with the way everything was wired. We talked to the customer, got an idea of his concerns and went to work. In the end we replaced the entire suspension and rear axle of the car. The front subframe was replaced with a tubular subframe and sustom aftermarket control arms. Steering duties were upgraded to a power rack and pinion and stopping was improved through four wheel disc brakes. The rear leaf spring suspension was tossed out and replaced with a four-link setup. Front and rear suspensions and subframes were connected with subframe connectors. Under the hood, the old 396 was cleaned up and topped off with a new paint job, gaskets and an Edelbrock Air gap manifold. The wiring nightmare was made better by correctly installing a Painless Wiring 14 circuit kit.

On the exterior, the original paint job wasn't too bad, so we cleaned it up and set the vehicle on custom Mint Wheels. Overall, We're proud of how this came out.

1998 Firebird

Most of us know that the LS1 powered f-body cars were pretty fast, and that motor was so great. That seems like where most of the superlatives stop when referencing that car. One of the biggest challenges to making horsepower and reliably putting it to the ground in the 4 th generation F-body is the 10 bolt rear axle. In the case of this Firebird, we installed a Moser 12 bolt axle to show how easily an individual could shore up the rear of these cars for serious power.

1972 Datsun 240Z

In the case of this project, we were given some creative license regarding the direction to take this car. It already had an L28 straight-six installed with a 5-speed transmission. From our perspective, the car was already pretty solid so we added fuel injection. Our approach to fuel injection was to use the intake manifold from the 280ZX and delete all non-essential items from the manifold. We bored the manifold out to accommodate a larger throttle body and used the fuel injection harness and sensors from a later model Nissan Maxima, in order to have digital EFI. From there we installed a Quaife LSD in the rear, four-wheel disc brakes, A/C, AutoMeter Cobalt gauges, and much more.

The finishing touch was a new "Daytona Blue" paint scheme done by our affiliate shop Fabulous Finish Custom Paint.

1988 Mustang

The Fox body Mustang is a very popular platform for performance. Considering the low weight, ease of finding parts and the lack of too many complicated sub-systems, it can be a great starting point. IN the case of this car, our owner wanted an engine bay that was showy and the power to back it. Many parts were powdercoated and replaced in order to get the clean feel of the engine bay. The engine and engine bay wiring was cleaned up and in some cases removed to outside the engine bay in order to get the desired look. The 5.0 liter engine was warmed over with a set of forged pistons, Comp camshaft, roller rockers, roller lifters and a set of springs. The exhaust is now routed through BBK shorty headers, BBK catted X-pipe and a pair of Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers. The T5 transmission was rebuilt by us in house, and clutch action is through a Spec stage 2 clutch.

1969 Mustang

This new arrival will definitely make anyone happy. Already this car has some pretty awesome work done, starting with the addition of the Cobra Mustang independent rear suspension. We will keep you updated on this project.
