High Impact Motorsports: Employee Projects

Some of the work we have done

High Impact Motorsports presents a sampling of the wervices we have provided. Where possible, we have provided additional information as to the specific work performed, parts used, and other relative, and hopefully, useful information.

1972 Datsun 1200

The 1200 was originally marketed as an economical and inexpensive A-to-B (and DD) car. Currently, the car is in process of receiving a Nissan CA18DE engine and 5-speed transmission. The rear end has been replaced with a stronger unit. The suspension is going to receive a complete revitalization. When the mechanical component is complete body-work will be performed and the car is to be painted Scion Envy Green. Look for this car out on the streets of Vegas next year!

2003 Lancer EVO VIII

Though mostly stock, this daily-driven, Honda-eating EVO has a well built engine, starting with the Manley crankshaft, forged JE pistons, and Manley connecting rods. To cool the oil temps, an AMS oil cooler was installed. For durable clutch action we installed an ACT stage 2 clutch kit and Fidanza lightweight aluminum flywheel. Future plans include 280 degree cams and larger turbocharger.

1982 Datsun 720

On the outside it may appear to be nothing, but after 14 years it has seen multiple transformations. Initially a 4x2 pickup, it has been converted to four-wheel-drive, received air conditioning, cruise control and power steering. Literally the testbed for many different projects (including our turbocharged NAPS-Z engine). This is daily-driven and continually put to the test. Many different motors have been put under the hood, and currently it houses a KA24E engine from a 240SX.

1993 Nissan 240sx

What may on the surface appear to be merely a random 240sx is not. This one is on turbocharged steroids. This car was originally an Automatic Transmission that was converted to a 5-speed manual when the motor swap occurred. Under the hood we find a red-top SR20DET that has been reinforced with ARP head studs, Cometic MLS head gasket and Mr Gasket copper exhaust manifold gasket. The clutch is improved through the use of an Excedy Stage 1 clutch and gear swapping is done through a fully rebuilt Nissan FS5W71C transmission.
Sadly, someone wanted this vehicle and took it without asking. It remains missing.

1982 Datsun 720 another one!

Saved from the streets after the prior owner "rolled it". Replaced cab, straighten box, a little body work, new paint, and she rolls! Nothing fancy, just a standard Z22 motor (carb).

Our own projects in the works:

Turbocharged Nissan 720 for drift, Solid axle swap and 5.3 Vortec swap in a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer and a custom Rat-rod project on a Chevy S10 frame.
